Sun TV on buying spree: Secures Aramm, Mannavan Vanthanadi and Sathya

Looks like the South Indian market leader Sun TV is back on the track. Sun TV has launched his own OTT platform Sun NXT app, a few weeks back. Since then, the network has gone on a massive buying spree, acquiring more than half a dozen of films and will also produce Vijay’s next with AR Murugadoss.

Sun TV has snapped the satellite rights of Sivakarthikeyan – Ponram’s next film, Nayanthara’s ‘Aramm’, Prabudeva’s ‘Gulebakavali’, Santhanam – Selvaraghavan’s ‘Mannavan Vanthanadi’ and Sibi Sathyaraj’s ‘Sathya’. Besides the company has also secures the satellite rights of a couple of films as well.

Sun NXT is touted as the biggest digital platform having more than 4000 movies in four South Indian languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Sources close to the network has said that Sun TV will acquire more and more films in the coming days and add them to its app’s exclusive movie library.
